Privacy policy

What we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to have it erased.

Draft — not yet legally reviewed. This text is a placeholder written by the development team so the page exists and the site can be tested. It is not Hostus.life's policy and should not be relied on. Final wording comes from the company's legal advisers before launch.

What we collect

Your name, email address and — if you give one — a phone number. Bookings and messages you send. Identity or compliance documents, if you are a host and upload them.

How documents are held

Identity and compliance documents are encrypted by us before they are stored, so the storage provider never holds a readable copy. Every read of one is logged with who read it and when. Only you and staff authorised to handle personal data can read yours.

How long we keep things

Document access logs are kept for a year, moderation records for two, and documents attached to listings that were never completed for ninety days. These windows are configurable and will be confirmed by our advisers.

Erasing your account

You can delete your account from your profile. Everything that is yours alone is deleted outright, including uploaded documents. Records shared with someone else — a booking a host relies on, a conversation they were part of — survive with your name removed and your messages redacted, because those are that other person's records too.

Reaching a person

Questions about your data, a booking or a host go to support@hostus.life. Requests to see, correct or erase your data go to the same address, and you can delete your account yourself from your profile.

Registered company details and the named grievance officer are still to be supplied.
